The Money Project (referred to as "we", "us", or "our") operates the website themoneyproject.ca. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable Canadian privacy legislation.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information in the following ways.

Information you provide directly

When you submit a form on this site, including the workshop booking form, the program waitlist form, the app notification form, or the contact form, we collect the information you enter. This may include your name, email address, company name, program interests, and any message you choose to include.

Information collected automatically

When you visit this site, we automatically collect certain technical information through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, including your approximate location, device and browser type, pages visited, and how you interact with the site. This information is collected using cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 5 below.

3. How we use your information

We use the personal information we collect to:

• Respond to workshop booking requests, waitlist signups, and contact form messages
• Send confirmation and notification emails related to your request
• Understand how visitors use this site so we can improve it
• Measure the effectiveness of our marketing, including Google Ads campaigns
• Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. How we store and share your information

Form submissions are sent to us by email using Resend, an email delivery provider, and are not stored in a separate database. Resend processes information on our behalf and is contractually required to protect it.

We may disclose personal information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Money Project, our clients, or others.

5. Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate correctly and to understand how it is used. Specifically, we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to collect anonymized and pseudonymized information about site usage, such as pages viewed, time spent on the site, and general geographic location.

When you first visit this site, you are shown a cookie consent banner. Non-essential cookies, including analytics cookies, are only activated after you provide consent. You may decline non-essential cookies, and you may change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's stored data for this site.

Essential cookies required for the site to function are not subject to this consent choice.

6. Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request corrections, and to withdraw consent for its use, subject to certain legal and contractual restrictions. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 9.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.

9. Debt Payoff Program

If you enrol in the Debt Payoff Program, we collect additional personal information beyond what is described above, so that Rebecca can build and update your written payoff plan.

What we collect

Your name, contact details, income, spending, debts, credit scores, and goals, as provided by you through the intake form and in conversation. We never ask for or need your account numbers, Social Insurance Number, or passwords.

How it is stored

This information is kept in a secure online tool that only Rebecca can access, run by a service provider based in the United States. A backup copy is also kept, stored securely. Statements and credit reports you share are deleted once your numbers have been entered into your plan.

Sharing

We do not share this information with anyone, including The Mortgage Project Inc., unless you ask us to in writing or the law requires it.

Deletion

When we finish working together, you can ask us to delete your information at any time.

The full terms, including what is collected and how it is used, are also set out in the Debt Payoff Program client agreement, which every client reviews and accepts before their first session.
